At 7:30, the Rev'd Dr. PJ Carefoote takes to the lectern. Dr. Carefoote is the Head of Rare Books and Special Collections at the Thomas Fisher Rare Books Library, University of Toronto. This series examines the evolution of the Bible in the English language, from the primitive attempts to render the Scriptures into the common tongue in the 8th century until the present day. In tonight's presentation, The King's Bible, Dr. Carefoote unravels how a seriously and dangerously divided society managed to produce one of the greatest literary treasures of the English-speaking world: the King James Bible.
