The quarter-punch-front-wheel-lift and the three-quarter-punch-front-wheel-lift are both drive-train (or pedal-punch) initiated front wheel lifts and are used toget the front wheel of your mountain bike up - for example up or over obstacles.
Like for the wheelie, we use a dynamic pedal punch to lift our front wheel. With the wheelie, we are SITTING down, for the two lifts in this video, we are standing up!
Of course, there are also front wheel lifts without using our drivetrain, like the classic or manual front wheel lifts.
Which of these is better?
Well the answer is: NONE! All of them are great to have! Because: #moreskillsmorefun !
I am NOT a fan of saying "one skill is better than the other", because all skills have their area of appliance. The two lifts in this video are ideal to GET UP an obstacle at relatively slow speed or when there is only a short run-in.
In this video I share the differences, demo the two front wheel lifts and also recommend to start with one of the two - because timing is easier with one.
