Magnus Carlsen and Daniel Naroditsky just played a Chess.com blitz game that was SO good, Vladimir Kramnik immediately lost his temper and called cheating on both players! Seriously, this incredible blitz game played on August 21st 2024 has everything you could want in a game - thrilling attacks, brilliant moves, piece sacrifices, and yes, good old-fashioned Vladimir Kramnik chess drama!
In the game Magnus Carlsen opens 1.e4 (best by test!) and Daniel Naroditsky responds with 1...c5, heading for his favorite Najdorf Sicilian. From there Magnus plays a very tricky sideline (as he tends to do), starting with 6.Be3 and then 7.Nde2 - arguably a dubious move, but Magnus Carlsen has his ideas for this game!
From there Magnus Carlsen puts Daniel in a tricky position with his rook stuck on the c4 square, and soon Daniel's rook is stuck on Carlsen's side of the board! So with that in mind, Daniel makes the best of his situation and ultimately gives it up for a bishop and some pawns!
From there the game descended into "absolute chaos" with Daniel being down material, but he made up for that with a vicious kingside attack against Carlsen's king! I won't give away the ending here, so make sure to watch till the end of the video to see the exciting conclusion to this Daniel Naroditsky vs Magnus Carlsen slugfest!
