Helga Nowotny of the Vienna Science and Technology Fund (WWTF) presented “A humble view from inside evolution: towards the Third Paradise?” in her IST Austria Science and Society Lecture on March 6, 2019. By a humble view she meant that we as humans should reflect on what we are doing in and with evolution. While the convergence between computing power, algorithms, massive data and commercial rewards proceeds rapidly, the impact on society will be immense and remain unpredictable.
