Really learning to slow it down and play to the strengths of this offensive formation. Getting the ball to the running backs via hand-offs, screens and check downs really opens things up for the rest of the offense. Note, the first 5 passes were to the running backs.
I'm just now getting back into 34 Bear for the first time in M21. I haven't labbed any coverage or run D out of it yet (but I have some things in mind). Really wanted to test out two quick setup zero blitzes. The blitzes got the job done, so I'm bout to be in the lab on the run and coverage D take it to another level.
No time stamps on this one. Don't judge me...football is BACK!
00:30 - Defense - Got penetration on every snap. 1 sack, 1 QB hit and a stop on 4th down.
01:55 - Offense - Getting the ball at my opponents 24 (thanks defense) is money in the bank. My check downs were open so I rode them into the end zone on back to back passes to Fournette.
03:20 - Defense - After a sack on the first snap dude came out in Full House, so I anticipated max pro. I ran the Cover 1 with purples at 20 yard depth and lurked his slants for the INT.
04:10 - Offense - Great field position again (opponents 25 this time). After getting inside the 5 with ease I was stopped by stellar defense from my opponent. Under normal circumstances I'd have taken 3, but I feel very confident that this game is mine so I go for it only to turn it over on downs.
07:15 - Defense - Dude finally put together a pretty good drive as he mixed in the run a bit. We still got a sack on Lamar and eventually another INT. Almost took it to the house but that damn Hollywood Brown fast as hell!
10:00 - Offense - You guessed it, good field position again! And of course a quick screen to Fournette. Sensing a theme here. Eventually scored a TD with what is becoming one of my favorite setups. Motioning the China Special corner over and snapping as a post has been a dot every time I've run it! The underneath routes have varied but here I wanted digs from either side to occupy all the shallow zones and the user so Evans could get 1 on 1 and put in that work!
11:46 - Defense - Dude managed to get down field on me and score despite taking 2 sacks early. I should've backed off, but I kept the heat coming and he managed to roll out and drop a couple dots on me. He faked the extra point but my user hustled to make a play and strip the ball out.
15:50 - Offense - Starting from my own 25, first drive from my half of the field. Nice clean drive down the field capped off with a 14 yard TD on a setup that I had never used before. I actually freestyle a lot in game, but I'll be using this one some more.
21:30 - Defense - Smart of dude to hit me with a couple quick screens, got down across midfield on 3 straight screens, but then we slammed Lamar one more time. Hollywood had me smoked over the top but Lamar missed him for what would've been an easy 52 yard field goal. We get him off the field on downs.
23:40 - Offense - Just over 2 minutes left we know the games over, but every snap we can get is valuable as we learn this new offense. Managed to get inside the 10 very quickly, but stalled again as we neared the end zone. Turnover on downs.
27:00 - Defense - Well that didn't last long. I pressed Hollywood (WHY) against my better judgement and dude hit me with a bomb. Given the score and time remaining I wasn't worried of course.
28:15 - Offense - 26 seconds left. We throwing the ball just because lol. Clocked.
All in all I feel good about both sides of the ball. A lot of work to do to get it all polished, but I think I have the foundation for what I may run for the foreseeable future barring a patch that makes me have to change something.
31:30 - looking through individual stats. Check the receiving stats my RBs accounted for 13 of Brady's 20 completions. The sack numbers look good too. Not the crazy numbers 34 Bear put up in M20, but I'll take this for now.
