It was 1987 and in London Zeev Aram was celebrating the twenty-third anniversary of the opening of his showroom with an exhibition devoted to the best ideas and innovations of the country’s recent graduates. The exhibits included the prototype of the Thinking Man’s Chair, which Jasper Morrison, just out of the Royal College of Art, had designed the previous year for a trade show in Japan. The chair immediately clicked with Cappellini, who decided to include it in the Collection, presenting it at the Salone del Mobile in Milan in 1988. Since then, Morrison has been actively collaborating with Cappellini, developing products that have become real icons of international design.
