Ingredients:
1 bunch sorrel leaves (gongura)
1 tomato
7 dried red chilies
3-4 garlic cloves
Oil
1 spoon cumin
1 spoon mustard
2 onions
1 spoon salt
1/2 spoon chana daal
Curry leaves
Recipe:
Take a pan and add 1 spoon oil
Add 5 dried red chilies and 3-4 garlic cloves and fry
Fry until golden brown and keep aside
Add 1 tomato chopped and 1 bunch of sorrel leaves to same pan
Cook till all the ingredients are tender
Add cooked sorrel leaves and dried red chilies to blender
Make a chunky paste and take it into a bowl
Now add 1 small onion to blender and pulse
Add onion pieces to sorrel leaves mixture and mix everything together well
For tempering :
Take a pan and add 4 spoons oil
Add 2 dried red chilies, garlic crushed,1/2 spoons cumin,1/2 spoons mustard,1/4 chana daal and curry leaves
Fry them in oil and add to sorrel leaves mixture
Mix well and enjoy
It can be stored in refrigerator and used for 1 week
Tastes better with hot rice and ghee
