Japan has marked the 11-year anniversary of the earthquake and tsunami that caused the Fukushima nuclear disaster.
An estimated 20 000 people were killed in 2011 when a 9.0 magnitude earthquake triggered a tsunami in the country’s northeast.
The tsunami hit the Fukushima nuclear power plant, which disabled the power supply and cooling systems of three reactors.
