Have you heard of this place before?
This village has around 1,000 residents, some cats, and all things medieval! Most stone houses here date back to the 15th century 🤯
What to do here?
🗝 Wander through the cobblestone streets (duh!), it’s like walking through a movie set! (And, fun fact, it’s been in movies like The Three Musketeers! 🎥). The village is kinda oval shaped and 3 hours is enough time to see everything!
🌸 Picture-perfect stone houses, wooden shutters, and ancient doors will truly teleport you back in time! Every corner oozes history, so take your time exploring those hidden gems! Lots there from the Medieval times - like a well.
🍰 Don't miss out on the village's iconic thin, crispy, sugary flatbread that locals and visitors alike rave about!
⛪️ The Church of Saint Mary Magdalene is a Romanesque-Gothic church which feels like a fortress from the past.
🌳 This place has Views for Days since its perched on a hill. You’ll get incredible views of the rolling French countryside.
🚗 How to Get here?
It’s only about an hour from Lyon by car and the parking was right at the village entrance! Once you get in the area, follow signs for the village and parking.
👉🏻 This is Pérouges, France!
The most important thing you need to know is that the restaurants, galleries, etc often only open for 2 hours here and not everyday. So make sure to check the timings if you wanna go to some of those.
I highly recommend including this village when planning a trip to France.
