AnalogPlanet editor Michael Fremer was honored to be invited to the Third Man Pressing Plant Opening Party in Detroit, February 24th. The amazing gathering included all of the major American pressing plant owners including QRP's Chad Kassem, RTI's Don MacInnis, Rainbo's Steve Sheldon, URP's Mark Michaels and Gotta Groove's Matt Earley. Also in attendance were Zane Howard and Michael Thomas of Second Line Vinyl—a new pressing plant start up. Also there: Stoughton Press's Jack Stoughton, Jr. (LP jacket manufacturer), Newbilt's Bernd Blunk (press manufacturer) and PVC "pellet man" Casey Gibson. No doubt leaving some people out. It was a super-fun evening of vinyl-culture camaraderie, the likes of which no CD pressing plant opening has ever seen! Thanks to Jack White and his staffers for a super evening of fun and excellent food, music and libations.
