Quick video demonstrating an issue I'm seeing with the LP120s when mixing. Basically, if you slow down the platter to beatmatch tracks, the deck appears to over-compensate and as soon as you let go, speeds up way past where it was before eventually settling. If you're not careful, you end up in an endless battle with the deck.
A couple of points to note:
1) The decks are totally level in all dimensions. This was one of the first things I checked and always do prior to recording a mix.
2) I know I'm not perfect, and in my mixes on this channel I have made mistakes and beatmatched too much/the wrong way. As you'll see in this demo though, the behaviour is very erratic.
3) Both decks behave in the same way.
4) I didn't choose these decks, they're kindly on loan to me while my friend moves house. Once he has them back I'll likely be buying my own, probably Reloop RP7000 mk2s.
The issue doesn't occur consistently, and more often than not it doesn't happen. It doesn't seem to be related to how much you slow the platter down either, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.
I'd be interested to hear other people's thoughts on this.
