We walk from Sunny Beach , Bulgaria, into adjoining New Nessebar on a very warm evening in July 2024, hoping to find something interesting. We discover an arts festival with groups from many countries performing traditional song and dance. It is surprising how in the Sunny Beach area, the biggest resort on the Black Sea, there is so much going on during the summer season.
People just think it is just beaches and bars, how wrong! There is so much history and culture to discover, not far from the holiday resorts themselves.
Do ask and check if anything is going on while your visiting, Bulgarians love a festival of any type, an opportunity to dance where possible.
