Most of us have some spare nuts and bolts lying around our homes. This YouTuber used them to create a wasp sculpture. If you want to make your very own hardware hornet, start by adding three nuts onto a screw. Put the screw into a drill, and turn it on so that it spins. This will become a sort of makeshift lathe. While it’s spinning, file the top nut so that it becomes smooth. Flip the nut over, and add another on top of it. File and sand that one as well until you have a rounded tip. Polish with steel wool. Add more nuts into the screw and shape with a file, sandpaper, and steel wool until they resemble a bullet shape. This will be your wasp’s body. Now, it’s time for some heat. Heat up the screw using a torch until it’s malleable, and then hammer it flat. After it cools, file and polish until it shines. Every wasp needs wings. Draw out some wings and legs on a piece of paper. Cut out the shape, and glue it to your flattened screw. Using a jeweler saw and a file, cut out the shape and drill a hole into the middle. Etch in details on the wings. Begin to assemble your wasp by layering your different nuts with the wings and legs on top of a screw. Be sure the pointed end is on the back to resemble a stinger. Bend the wings back and the legs around so it looks realistic and can stand on its own. Use excess pieces of the hammered down screw, and file them down into antennae. Now you have your own DIY wasp made from nuts and bolts. 🎥 @Ross The Random
