The City of David excavation presents many archaeological features of Jerusalem that dates back to the Middle Bronze Age when Jerusalem was still a Canaanite city. According to the Bible, Joab took the city for David from the Jebusites by sneaking into the city though a water tunnel. Here, you can see this Canaanite tunnel.
First, you need to go to the City of David's entrance. Next you'll find the Stepped Stone Structure that dates from the time of the first temple period with many findings corroborating it. Nehemiah's wall is possibly the foundation of one of the remaining walls. Next, you'll see Gihon Spring, the place where Solomon was anointed king. Then you can check the Canaanite tunnel or go directly to the Siloam Tunnel that was constructed by Hezekiah in preparation against Assyrian offensive. The tunnel leads you to the Pool of Silwan, with the original Pool of Siloam still being excavated nearby. From there, you can walk the Pilgrimage Road that leads all the way up to the temple in Jerusalem.
Since the Pilgrimage Road was undergoing an active excavation, I was only able to see a little bit of it and walked in the drainage canal that's located right below the Pilgrimage Road.
