The Global Health Network Conference 2022 celebrated 10 years of mobilising research skills, know-how and methods to foster capable teams that generate new treatment strategies and prevention mechanisms that reduce the burden of disease within communities. The Burdett Trust for Nursing RISE 2022 symposium is one of many that preceded the main event.

The Burdett Trust for Nursing RISE symposium offers a unique opportunity for nurses and midwives to focus on Research for Impact, Success and Evidence-led health outcomes.

The first session presents a view on nursing research from the top nurse leaders. These speakers explore the unique contribution of the nursing research lens in relation to the evidence base and the necessity of this data in responding to current and future global population health, influencing health policy and discovering the key elements to successful networking. The second session brought in real life voices from the frontline, where we heard from experts and practitioners in the field presenting experiences, best practices, and lessons learned in practice and research. This session has key contributions from nurses leading in research across the global south.
