Ahead of the local government elections in Adamawa State, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has declared that all 21 local government council running mates will be women.
The Governor made this announcement during a stakeholders meeting of the People's Democratic Party in the banquet hall of the Government House in Yola.
Stakeholders from the twenty-one local governments of Adamawa State gathered at the Government House in Yola for a discussion ahead of the council polls slated for July 13, 2024.
The meeting was convened at the behest of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Fintiri reminded them that it is another political cycle and urged everyone to approach it with a strong sense of commitment.
He emphasized the importance of shunning anti-party politics, warning that the party would not tolerate individuals working against it behind the scenes.
