A nice short walk around and drive in Dean's 1980 Triumph TR8 convertible. To add to the 'spice' of the 'Wedge' style cars, British Leyland added a V-8 option to the line. The V-8 originated as an aluminum design from General Motors around 1962 or so, GM sold the rights to the English several years later and wanted it back when the fuel crisis hit in 1973. No way said the English, the engine was used in many vehicles from these Triumphs, Rover, and yes, Land Rovers and other fine British makes. Dean's car is a survivor pretty much, and is fun to drive. It is not a car for the faint hearted, While not the most quick car on the road, you really have to keep an eye on driving it. It is low, noisy, gets hot inside, it is, well, so British! Maybe not 100% as it does not leak oil and most of the electricals do work. Only fair manufacturing quality marred the cars in the reliability department, so not too many are around, you seem to find them in clusters in certain cities. I really enjoyed the car after I sorted out the clutch and stick shift!
