How do you pick yourself up after rejection, after failure? When you’ve poured your heart into something, almost by definition you’re going to be heartbroken if it doesn’t work out. This video is advice I wrote for myself when down about persistent rejection — and how its only cure is persistent “keeping going”. Whatever rejection you’re dealing with right now, I hope you keep going.
(It’s so easy to vlog about a PhD when it’s going well, especially when I promised myself I would always be honest on here. It's not so easy when it’s not been great. This video is as close to oversharing as you’ll see me get, but if I signed up for vlogging a PhD then it was never going to be all smiles in lab coats.)

My name is Lucy Kissick, I’m a third-year PhD student at the University of Oxford (or DPhil as they call it, to be contrary). I research the surface of Mars, but, damn, I would much rather it was Pluto.
