Some people might be familiar with airships, or Zeppelins, from history, but their era has since ended. Airships nowadays are very different from those that were invented more than 80 years ago. Using blimps as a rapid, secure, and environmentally responsible mode of transportation is now possible thanks to advancements in technology. In addition, the new air balloons may transform aviation.
Climate change is a result of the air pollution and carbon emissions created by aircraft. However, a world without air travel no longer seems possible. For this reason, businesses look for substitutes that are both environmentally friendly and convenient to commute with. An airship is one of the devices that make it possible.
The history of airships began in 1783, even though to some this means of transportation may appear brand-new. A hot-air balloon was created in that year by two brothers from France. Later, a German military commander by the name of Ferdinand Zeppelin created the rigid airship in 1900 and gave it his family name as a nickname. The Hindenburg Zeppelin crashed to the earth in 1937. The incident confused people because it was captured on camera and made public.
Airships are a greater form of transportation over aircraft because of the way they are constructed. Compared to other modes of transportation, they are more practical and environmentally friendly. On top of that, special infrastructure is not needed for airships. No runway is necessary for takeoff or landing. Better Zeppelins are able to land nearer to urban areas.
