Nationals MP Barnaby Joyce says the Labor Party “seem to be falling apart” and “people lose their faith in politics” as the Victorian Labor Party branch stacking scandal continues to take scalps.
Cabinet minister Marlene Kairouz announced on Tuesday morning she would stand aside from her ministerial role while an investigation was underway.
It comes after Assistant Treasurer Robin Scott also announced his resignation amid the scandal.
Mr Scott was a close factional ally of Adem Somyurek who was sacked on Monday following allegations of branch stacking and of making derogatory comments about his colleagues.
“I would say that as I’m from the other side,” Mr Joyce told Sky News.
“But it’s just dissembling, it’s reaching up to Canberra.
“It seems to be chaotic.”
