** Probably best watched in full screen...NOTE-: On the lineside clips you will notice some slight wobbles as i did the entire Day Hand held !!
I had two good reasons for going Filming Today, firstly it was the final ever Day of the West Somerset Railway Association's (WSRA) Annual free Rover Ticket to be used....From Sun 1st May all members will get 25% off all Year round. Secondly as it was a main Summer Yellow timetable in operation to cope with the extra Passenger numbers due to Peppa Pig at Minehead Station. The BL4 diagram which Today was operated by the DEPG using their loaned Class 42 Warship D832 'Onslaught' This is to be the Locomotives last scheduled timetable appearance before going to The Swanage Railways forthcoming Diesel Gala 6-8th May and finally the WSR Mixed Traction Weekend on 10-12th June. The Locomotive is expected to leave the WSR after 14th June and head back to the Bury Hydraulic Group on The East Lancs Railway where it has been on loan from since 2009. It will be sorely missed !!!
Here is the workings that D832 did Today. :- Yellow timetable diesel diagram- 11:45 Bishops Lydeard-Minehead, 13:20 Minehead-Willliton, 14:15 Williton-Minehead and 17:15 Minehead-Bishops Lydeard.
I had a great Day Train hopping and chose not to take the tripod as it is quite cumbersome carrying it on and off Trains. After filming the Warship in various locations, mostly on-Train, i was pleased to get some Steam action as well in the shape of firstly, S&DJR 7F 53808 leaving Blue Anchor. Later also at BA some extensive on Train footage with T/F S&DJR 7F 53809. I was particularly pleased to see 53809 as it has eluded me for Weeks....especially as it is still here on the WSR after the highly successful Spring Gala. I think it will be here until sometime in June....Great to have the 7F Sister's still together !! The journey back to Bishops Lydeard was slightly marred by a persistant Steam issue with the Locomotive...I hope they get it sorted soon. I hope you enjoy the video......Steve.-:)
