Raymond Bernard, 63, pictured left, who lived in the ill-fated block for 30 years, was the first victim of the fire to be remembered today where his sister (right with relatives) gave a tearful tribute. He was described as a 'protector' of people throughout his life and lived up to his nickname of Moses as he perished in the flames of Grenfell last year. Victims Deborah Lamprell, Jessica Urbano, Berkti Haftom, Biruk Haftom, Hamid Kani and one other person were found on his bed with Bernard lying next to them on the floor with his dog Marley. His tearful sister Bernadette Bernard said at the inquiry: 'He was not only my brother, my rock and friend - he was also my protector'. It came as Kensington and Chelsea Council revealed it will spend £3.5million replacing 4,000 doors at its properties because they were also fitted in Grenfell Tower.
