Jambo gets a good groom. Genet his daughter has a real good go at something on his skin. When I zoom out one of the chimps called Samatha is on the right-hand side making some noise. Chimp Tuli cleans his eye. Later on, the bell rings for them to go in the back for a check-up and I'm sure some treats. Afterwards, Jambo is getting ready to go to sleep. Making up his nest with the wood wool.

Hairless Chimp Jambo, the alpha male was born at Twycross Zoo in England. He has had alopecia, a form of hair loss since his youth. Born on June 9, 1982, his daughter Genet and his mother Coco (1965) share the same habitat. Coco is the oldest animal at Twycross Zoo. Jambo's siblings from his father's side, Holly (born December 27, 1982) and Jomar (born December 28, 1990), are also in the same habitat. His first son Peter is in neighbouring enclosures.
In November 2018, Jambo lost his ear, possibly due to an accidental fight with his mother. Attempts to reattach it with skin glue failed as he continued to pick on it. In October 2022, he also lost a toe, with the cause unknown but possibly related to fights and agitation during mating season.
In 2018, the chimpanzees received a new habitat called "Chimpanzee Eden." It spans 1,160 square meters and includes two seven-meter-high indoor spaces connected to a large outdoor area with climbing frames and huts.
