Combined clips from the Strongman Corporation sanctioned America's Strongest Viking at Palatine Park in Fairmont, WV. I competed in the 300lbs and under group. The first event was max mouser block press, with three attempts. Lifts were 210lbs, 240lbs and 280lbs. My last attempt weighed out to 281.4lbs and tied the WR for the weight class. Got 2nd due to taking more attempts and opening lighter. After that was max deadlift with three attempts. No suits allowed and deadlift bar used. I wasn't feeling so great on deadlifts due to hip flexor strain I'm recovering from. Lifts were 495lbs and 585lbs. I waived my third attempt. Managed to get 3rd here. Third event was hercules hold with 140lbs added to the apparatus on each side. Not sure on that exact time but about 69 seconds. Just held it long enough to beat the best time in the group by a few seconds for a 1st place here. Fourth event was max distance block carry. 370lbs with turns at 32'. Only went 128' as the distance to beat had been 90' or so. Another 1st here. Final event was a medley. 262lbs farmer's for 40', load a 319lbs keg over a 48" bar and then 312lbs farmer's for 34'. Time to beat had been 24 seconds and some change and got in just under 24 seconds. So another 1st here too. I finished in 1st out of 5 in the weight class, winning my first platinum plus contest and qualifying for the amateur world championships in Columbus, OH in March.
