After the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, agencies across government sprang into action to assist the Afghans who had supported and worked with the U.S. government in Afghanistan for two decades. Chief among the supports was resettlement for the parolees who were evacuated from Afghanistan. Operation Allies Welcome was the largest resettlement effort in U.S. history, helping more than 70,000 people start a new life in the United States.
