BMW E39s actually came with "follow me home"-lights from the factory, it's just hidden.
Here's how you do it:
-When you turn off the ignition, just drag the blinker-stalk towards you once and the low-beams stay on for 40 seconds.
And that's it! Pretty cool, huh?
