Dragon Age to me really isn’t this great big successful franchise, its Dragon Age Origins and then two middling entries and that to me doesn’t make for much of a series. Now that Mass Effect looks done for (at least for now) Dragon Age seems to be Bioware’s last line of defence to try and regain some credibility but I do feel it might be too late.

They’re at the mercy of EA now and the leaks last year suggested we have a life service in store. If that’s the case, I think it will be the final nail in the coffin for their old school fans and if the game doesn’t’ sell well, I can see Bioware being pretty much just a support studio or responsible for exactly what EA wants (game likes Battlefront etc.).

This trailer didn’t give me any optimism; it was basically a sales pitch from proven liars who previously had told us games like Anthem were incredible when the game didn’t even exist yet. I’d love to believe them but with this studio I think any sane person is taking a wait and see approach and will only have optimism when we see promising in game footage.
