No fewer than 50 million Nigerians will receive a share of $800 million in funding from the World Bank as a post-petroleum subsidy palliative.
The Federal Government yesterday said it secured the fund to support the poorest of the poor who will be adversely affected by the imminent subsidy removal.
In line with the Petroleum Industry Act, subsidy is expected to end in June.
Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, said the money will be distributed based on the existing register.
