The Prime Minister led selection panel will select the new chief of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). This comes after the high powered select committee remained inconclusive.
Top sources said that PM Modi led panel had a disagreement over one of the shortlisted candidates, Gujarat DGP Shivanand Jha. Objections were also raised about appointing the Gujarat cadre officer as the new CBI chief.
