The full name of this cocktail doesn’t exactly have you brimming with confidence about its quality: Growing Old and Dying Happy is a Hope, Not an Inevitability. But trust us, it’s delicious, despite being a drink that breaks a lot of rules. This stirred cocktail is made with Cynar as its base and then it’s accented with rye whiskey, flavored with a pinch of salt, and stirred with not one, but five lemon peels. Served up in an absinthe-rinsed coupe, this is a bitter cocktail that Boulevardier and Negroni fans will want to try.
