Five mosques in Birmingham had their windows smashed in with a sledgehammer overnight, prompting calls for more police protection and an anti-terror police investigation. Seven windows and two doors at the Witton Road Islamic Centre in Witton, were smashed at around 1.30am last night. West Midlands Police confirmed that at least three other places of worship were attacked overnight in the city. An imam and a city councillor have both called for more police protection, just one week after the terror attack in Christchurch.
