So if ever you’re not close to the Philippines favorite bee, or if you just want to make a crispylicous juicylicious fried chicken at home, this simple recipe does the trick.
First you have to brine your chicken for at least 6 hrs. Put salt, pepper and garlic powder in your brine and then place in the fridge. When you’re ready to cook, first wash your chicken and then pat dry.
For your coating, just mix flour with garlic powder and paprika, then a bit of pepper, cayenne pepper and salt. Coat your chicken in the flour, then in egg wash, then back into the flour before putting it in the fry.
Fry for at least 12 mins in medium heat, turning every 3-4 minutes.
While frying you can also start with the gravy. Start by melting butter, then adding 1 1/2 tbsp flour. Place chicken broth and then milk, and a bit of soy sauce. Season with salt and pepper (some chicken broth are already salty) and add a bit of garlic powder. Reduce to your desired consistency and then serve with your chicken.
