Tam Coc, located 120 km from Hanoi in the Ninh Binh province, is part of the Hoa Lu limestone mountain range. For hundreds of years, the place has preserved the primitive beauty and today Tam Coc is part of the Tràng An scenic landscape complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Tam Coc, has a stunning scenery with beautiful mountains, caves and the charmingly Ngo Dong river.
We took a small rowboat, rowed by a woman using her feet, along the calm and crystal clear waters of the Ngo Dong river, which wriggles through a landscape of soaring peaks. We passed limestone karst towers emerged from rice paddies and explored near Bich Dong a series of mountain pagodas.
