UBECs are voltage regulators and most have a fixed output voltage of between 5V and 6V. This video shows you how to hack one of HobbyKing's UBECs to output a higher voltage -- such as 12V for powering an FPV camera/transmitter from a 4S lipo or for powering a couple of high-intensity LEDs like I have for my quadcopter.
Here are the resistor values used to obtain new voltages (within 0.4V or so):
56K Ohm = 6V output
33K ohm = 7V output
10K ohm = 10V output
8.2K ohms = 11V output
6.8K ohms = 12V output
Note: in order to get these output voltages, the input voltage must obviously be higher. For example, you can't get 12V out if you're only putting 7.4V in :-)
