Craigend Castle, abandoned. Found in Mugdock Country Park, East Dumbartonshire, Scotland.

This was a lovely location to be at, however (and its a big however), there are a lot of people CONSTANTLY as it is a public park so to speak. I waited for around 5 /10 mins whilst some people walked by then i got the drone in the air. When it took off i shot it straight up about 50m just to get it out of the way of anyone there. i can sincerely apologise for the lack of exciting footage from this video, i didn't want to unsafely fly close to anyone and ruin their time there by buzzing a drone in their face. The weather today was terribly overcast with horrendous heavy showers every now and then. when the mavic was up one began so the excitement of being able to film was short-lived! overall this location was beautiful and it recommend it to anyone, just try to go during a sunny off peak day!

Craigend Castle is a ruined country house, located to the north of Milngavie, in East Dunbartonshire, central Scotland.

The lands of Craigend were part of the Barony of Mugdock in medieval times, but the estate was sold in the mid-17th century to the Smith family. John Smith (1724–1812) was born at Craigend and became a merchant and the founder, in 1751, of booksellers John Smith & Son. John Smith built a plain house on the estate, but after his death, in 1816, his son, James Smith, incorporated that house in a much more ornate mansion. It was designed by Alexander Ramsay, in what is described as Regency Gothic style.
