Seen here are pilots struggling to land at the Polderbaan at Amsterdam Schiphol airport. Maybe less spectacular than the Storm Corrie video but this footage was filmed a few day before the storm hit The Netherlands. Here you can see a wind force of 5 bft some pilots really had to battle the crosswinds. A special visitor was the Hi Fly Airbus A330-900 (Neo) flying for Surinam Airways, I like that livery! Unfortunately Air Traffic Control decided to hold open the 2nd runway for arrivals resulting in the Airbus A350-900 from Vietnam Airlines landing on the other runway. I filmed it and you can see the pilots were also struggling a bit to land. I filmed smaller planes also on landing like the A318 from Air France and an A320 from EasyJet. Air Baltic arrived with their A220-300 in Lithuanian livery and the A330-300 Package to Freighter (P2F) also landed that day. Notice how the (fairly old) Airbus A300s from DHL still manage to land quite nice on the runway.
*Note: I film with wind noise reduction on and “dead cats” to prevent the wind ruining the sound of the aircraft landing. With strong winds this is way harder to mask, please pull down your volume or mute the video if you find the wind noise annoying.
