GrillGrate recommends that the new aluminum grates should be seasoned with a raw onion cut in half. I rubbed the onion on the raised rails of the hot grates multiple times to create a brown looking sulfide non-stick layer that should be durable up to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit.

Update - I just received my new slightly longer 17.375" GrillGrates. They fit perfectly in this Char-Broil TRU Infrared propane gas powered barbecue.

This is my Charbroil (also known as Char Broil or Char-Broil) TRU Infrared propane powered BBQ grill (model number 463242516).

Other similar Charbroil barbecue grills include the following model numbers that use the same emitter trays and porcelain coated cast iron grates. These should also be a perfect match for the 17.375 GrillGrate panels. Be sure to MEASURE YOUR GRILL before purchasing GrillGrates. I should have measured more carefully because the 17" GrillGrates move around too much in my grill.
