As thousands wait in line for hours to pay their final respects to Queen Elizabeth, a handful of San Diegans remember the weekend in February of 1983 when the Queen and Prince Philip visited San Diego. One of her stops was for morning service at what is now St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral. KPBS reporter John Carroll shares his memories of that day, when he was one of the lucky few to be in the church that morning.
