Lawyers for former Gauteng Health MEC, Qedani Mahlangu, have begun their cross-examination of former Deputy Director-General for Mental Health Services in Gauteng, Hannah Jacobus. The Life Esidimeni Inquest continues, tasked with determining who should be held criminally liable for the deaths of 144 mental health patients in 2016. They died of hunger and dehydration after being transferred from Life Esidimeni facilities to unlawful NGOs. SABC News senior reporter Chriselda Lewis has more.
