Live Tonight on Millennium Stage: The Beltway Brass Quintet is a project group conceived in 2003 by Zachary Smith of the nationally acclaimed Dixie Power Trio. The repertoire for the quintet is unusual in its emphasis on 20th century jazz harmonies and stylings. All of the members have backgrounds rooted in commercial playing, which allows them to incorporate jazz technique and improvisation into their arrangements.

At 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 21, a shuttle will run from Northeast Library to the Kennedy Center so that D.C. residents can attend the performance.
