The expected assembly sequence of the Chinese Tiangong Space Station. As of summer 2021, this is thought to be the mission order for the various Tianzhou cargo ships, Shenzhou crew spacecraft and space station modules to fly to build and ready the outpost for regular operations.

Assembly is slated to occur over the course of nearly a dozen launches, including crewed flights, cargo resupply spacecraft and several large pressurized modules, through the end of 2022.

This sequence began April 29, 2021, with the launch of the Tianhe core module. It was orbited using the new Long March 5B rocket and placed in a circular orbit roughly 380 kilometers, inclined 41.5 degrees from the equator.

For comparison, the International Space Station orbits at around 400 kilometers, inclined 51.6 degrees from the equator.
