This webinar discusses the findings from new research by HelpAge International, supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The report "Work, family and social protection" mines existing datasets to assess the extent to which older people can rely on these three key sources of income, using five countries as case studies: Bangladesh, Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. In particular, it reviews the contribution of new tax-financed social pension schemes, which have become increasingly common across the region.
