One of the harder questions a maker has to ask is what does the customer want.
That is not as simple as it may seem. Most people have ideas they "picked up" from movies, games , books and TV series. These ideas are often not close to what you see when you look at surviving weapons and read period accounts.
I have worked in Museums and handled hundreds of original weapons. 40 years of working as a metalsmith, including making weapons, and reading about the methods and scientific reaserch done on them informs a lot of my opinions.
But if you know something I will be happy to hear it, maybe even be able to put it in a better context.
