In this video, we are going to setup WiFi bridge to extend the LAN network wirelessly on OpenWRT LuCI with relayd package. This is also know as Wi-Fi extender / repeater / bridge configuration. As a result, you will have another extended network via WiFi that has the same LAN IP range/subnet with the primary router.
We only need relayd (core) package and luci-proto-relay to configure the Relay Bridge via LuCI Web Interface.
Please take note that the primary and the extened router should has a different LAN IP before the configuration. The DHCP server of the 2nd/extened network should be disabled so that all request will be routed to the primary router.
If your hardware supports 802.11s, you can check out my tutorial for "OpenWRT Mesh WiFi configuration" for the best performance.
If you want the extended network having a different LAN IP range/subnet, you can also check out the video "OpenWRT AP Client" tutorial.
