Since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in August, Ireland has offered sanctuary to 510 Afghan citizens on humanitarian grounds.
So far, 394 people have arrived, while an estimated 78 remain in Afghanistan or are in another country, still trying to get here.
RTÉ News spoke to some of those who are hoping for a fresh start in Ireland.
