J-Link Currently on the market there are many emulators for microcontrollers. One of the most popular is J-LINK - an inexpensive USB-JTAG adapter by well-known company IAR Systems, designed for in-circuit debugging and programming of ARM microcontrollers. The device has a compact design: on one side there is a USB port for PC connection, on the other side there is a 20-pin connector with outputs located according ARM company recommendation. The programmer is powered from a USB bus. It is compatible with all evaluation boards with a standard JTAG connector. An adapter with a 20 and a 9-pin FTSH connector, recommended by ARM, is required to work with target boards based on microcontrollers with Cortex-M core through SWD interface. Software development tools compatible with J-Link include IAR Embedded Workbench and CrossWorks. In addition, there is a software bridge between J-Link and RDI debug interface developed by ARM. This provides a unique opportunity to use other well-known development tools. Necessary software is available on the company website. Features of the adapter: - Support of the core with ARM7/ARM9/ARM11/Cortex-M0/M1/M3 architecture, including THUMB mode; - Download speed up to 600 kbps; - Support of IAR Embedded Workbench development environment; - JTAG maximum frequency 8MHz; - Ability to control all signals of JTAG-interface; - Support for debugging of multiple cores simultaneously; - "Plug-and-play" configuration; The package includes: - USB-JTAG converter; - USB cable; - 20-pin JTAG-cable J-LINK is a perfect addition to evaluation boards by OLIMEX, KEIL, IAR, Embedded Artists, and many others.
