With deaths caused by prescription medication outstripping those resulting from illegal drug use, a national system is being rolled out to better keep tabs on people's prescriptions and curb 'doctor-shopping'.
The ACT Chief Health Officer says she's confident all Canberra's doctors and pharmacists will sign up to the system, called Canberra Script.
It will be rolled out from the end of this year and will be part of a national monitoring framework.
