Shooting with any mirrorless camera in a low ambient light setting makes it tricky to compose your photo because all you see is black.
With the Sony a7Riii or any other camera that has an electronic view finder (EVF) you have to turn the live view display setting to off. That way if you're doing a shoot that requires you to kill a lot of the ambient light - like studio portrait work - adjusting this setting will allow you to still be able to see what is going on in the view finder and be able to focus.
