BARNUM - the giant with the gentle look, is still looking for a real living place.
Since Barnum appeared in the Amber Troop everything has been shaken up and new groups and circles of friends have emerged.
Barnum was first seen in the Amber Troop on July 21st. He was suddenly there. He came from the temple area of Angkor Wat, where he had lived for four years, although not as a regular troop member. He was seen on the outskirts of the Mila Troop at Angkor Wat temple and in the nearby forest.
A little about BARNUM'S BACKSTORY.
He is the only son of pigtail mother Bella in the Carbzilla troupe. Born in June 2016.
She was an excellent mother and their mother-son relationship was very close and beautiful since his birth and childhood. He was always close to his mother and that was a strong family bond that was visible to anyone who followed the Carbzilla Troop years ago.
His mother was very caring and loved her son very much. She was although protective even when he grew up to be mature young male mom was always nearby her son.
Mom Bella supported him in his very difficult situation when Barnum suddenly fell victim to a trap and his wrist was swollen and black because the rope no longer allowed the blood supply to circulate.
This happened in early February 2020, just few months before Barnum turned four. He constantly cleans the wound on his wrist and mom was always nearby, helping clean the wound and nursing her son so he could relax and get better.
After a while the wound closed and new flesh and skin covered the wound, saving and healing his hand and wrist.
The year 2020 was one very exciting stage of life for the entire Carbzilla Troop, the native Troop of Barnum. There was many times fighting for the King position and there happened some changes and some members as old Thompson, Fluffy and Ella family left the Troop after Samson took over as King. They went to live with Augusto Troop, that was smaller the time back.
Until Summer 2020 it was Balu the King of Carbzilla who challenged old Thompson, but Samson took over. That must be the time when Barnum had left the Troop too. One member of Mila Troop tried to join, that was old good Tajas, he didn't succeed.
In the summer of 2020, more precisely in August 2020, Barnum was suddenly spotted in the Mila Troop at Angkor Wat temple park area. He tried to join the group but was probably unsuccessful.
The year Summer 2020 was infamous for the Angkor Wat Temple and Mila Troops area becoming inaccessible to camera crews. So we lost track as there have been very few updates since then. Occasionally he was filmed mainly with visitors and tourists visiting the park.
Last summer 2023, Barnum the gentle Giant was seen visibly injured in his left leg and foot. Since then he has continued to limp and never seems to have fully healed from his injury. Even his right canine was loose hanging out of his mouth, when he opened his mouth it was visible.
Since then Barnum was rarely seen on videos, occasionally when Mila Troop were coming to Carbzilla and Augusto Troop place along the highway road, he was shortly recorded there around. Since we rarely had view on Mila Troop at Angkor Wat temple area we couldn't see Barnum as often.
Ten days ago on July 21st 2024 Barnum appeared suddenly in Amber Troop at Bayon Temple Angkor Thom City.
Now Barnum has joined the Amber Troop and it's been clear for 10 days that he's making an effort to fit in and fit in. He has become very close to Joey and they seem to get along well.
He is also accepted by several females and they love spending time with him. Julina was the first to greet him on the tree the first day when he arrived. Several ladies from the Amber Troupe followed him, even some younger ones from Savanna Place joined him already.

Some males who doesn't seem to like Barnum there that much is Pongo and Obie who tried to drive him away from the women and some pigtail ladies tried to chase him into the temple few days ago.
So Barnum still has to fight for his place in the Amber Troop and strive to be accepted, especially since it is not clear whether the current King Mak would be able to keep his King's crown since Aesop betrayed Mak again.
We wish Barnum peaceful acceptance and success, at least that he stays healthy and whole and that he finds new friends and family in the Amber Troop family.
