On October 19, 2010, the Middle East Institute, Institute of African Studies, and Department of Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies at Columbia University hosted a discussion on Libya Today: moving past the "rogue state" label and instead examining Libya's path to reform. It will attempt to address the complexities of Libya's massive oil reserves, its sovereign wealth, the burdens of its colonial experience and a populace that has yet to take part in the fruits of globalization.
